Bread Pudding Recipe for the Holidays

The holiday season would not be what it is if not for all the tasty baked goods at your disposal. Here is a recipe for cinnamon roll bread pudding that caught our eye and our taste buds.

2 cups of whole milk 3/4 cup of heavy cream 4 large eggs 1/2 cup of sugar plus 1 tbsp for garnish 1/3 cup of nut-flavored liqueur, Frangelico or Amaretto 1 tsp of vanilla extract 1/2 tsp of salt 7 cups of challah or brioche plus 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 cup of walnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and prepare the middle rack for use. Whisk together the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, liqueur, vanilla, and salt until everything is smooth and the eggs are broken up. Place the bread and walnuts in a 2-quart baking dish, evenly distributed. Pour the custard into the dish and allow it to soak into the bread for about 15 minutes. Boil about 8 cups of water on medium-high heat. Sprinkle the tablespoon of sugar onto the bread pudding and place the dish into a larger roasting pan. Fill the pan with the hot water until it reaches about the half-way point of the bread pudding's baking dish. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, until the custard is set and the bread is a light brown color. Remove the dish from the water and let it cool for about 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
